The grandiose Lourdes Grotto on the hill of the Poelberg was founded in 1938 by the Sisters of the Faith. At the time, the cave was known as one of the most beautiful Lourdes caves in the diocese and as the most visited pilgrimage site in Tielt.

It is a rock chapel, largely overgrown by climbing plants, surrounded by a walkway consisting of seven open chapels with walls in granite rubble. Two stairs lead you to the place of pilgrimage where you can burn candles.
