Crunchy steep climb if you go the loop counterclockwise. What is highly recommended, the narrow and winding path is paved on the eastern half, but the surface is no longer in the best condition - so the descent here is not much fun, it is not a problem on the climb. And even the very tight switchbacks (four in number, closely staggered) are not really smooth downhill. The western half is easy to ski down, but be careful here, too, because of the Lenzenberg inn, oncoming traffic is always to be expected here (quite apart from winemaker tractors). For this, you will be rewarded with a great view over the southern Upper Rhine Plain, the Black Forest on the left, the Vosges on the right and, in clear weather, the Jura in the south. And of course you can also replace the drops of sweat at the inn that the steep climb may have cost.
Really an insider tip. Those who know the Lenzenberg usually only know the western driveway. The eastern part of the loop is correspondingly quiet. So my tip: drive the Lenzenberg counterclockwise, because then you are mostly alone during the (time) long ascent.
