the bass violin in the Kaiserstuhl, while Freiburg, which is only a few kilometers away, is considered the secret eco-capital of Germany, the region around Vogtsburg in the Kaiserstuhl is virtually the capital of a breathtaking flora and fauna. Twelve of the 14 nature reserves of the Kaiserstuhl are located in Vogtsburg alone. Bee-eater, praying mantis, emerald lizard, even the small, timid wild cat: they all populate the sunniest and warmest landscape in Germany. Diptam and Pasque flower awaken in the spring and more than 33 species of orchids bloom on the dry grasslands of the Badberg and the Mondhalde, while the fruit tree blossom enchants the Rhine plain.

I assume that this refers to the Texas Pass, which is well known among road cyclists. Many start up here "according to time" and compare themselves via portals.

The unofficial "Heart of the Kaiserstuhl" offers breathtaking nature and should not be reduced to the switchbacks of the "Texas Pass".
