St. Pankratius is a gem of church and art history in the Enzkreis, and for a number of reasons. Firstly, it impresses with its special geological location and the connection between the chapel and karst springs. In earlier centuries, this was a magnet for people seeking healing from illnesses and a place to pray. The tranquility of the chapel can still be felt by visitors today.

Furthermore, the log pews preserved from the 18th century are of art-historical importance and a regional speciality. Here, the Catholic monastery and the Reformation, Württemberg and Baden history meet. The wall painting bears eloquent witness to this: a late medieval depiction of the Last Judgement with intercessory saints was not only largely not painted over, but was also reinforced and designed in detail after the Reformation. The chapel shows that Protestant and Catholic churches could exist side by side.

The chapel is beautifully situated and you should definitely visit it from the inside.
