Rennes is the largest city, university seat and capital of Brittany. The streets are often lined with 18th century palaces, but you will also find large quarters where you can stroll through rows of medieval houses. In one street, colorful and crooked half-timbered houses lean against each other and around the corner you will find parliament buildings, neoclassical villas and cultural palaces. The mix is exciting and overwhelming. Take a little time to explore the city.
