Our destination today was Neumarkt with its old town center and the 500 m long arcades.
Therefore, we decided on a hike with this endpoint.
The Blauburgunderweg 🍇 led us via Montan, the track and a viaduct of the disused Fleimstal railway and the Glener waterfall to the arcades of Neumarkt.

It is wonderful to hike in this valley at the moment. It is wonderfully quiet. We only met a few hikers and bikers on the trails.
In summer, it looks different. World-famous for the unique view of the Geisler peaks, this valley is known through countless hiking calendar pictures

Recommended tour to the Barbian waterfalls. The path up to the waterfalls was a bit steep but well secured in exposed sections. Thus, we could absolutely enjoy the impressive waterfalls in spring. Rain was forecast again today. Therefore, after getting up, the precipitation radar was consulted. No rain in sight, so off on foot to the Franzensfeste fortress.
The fortress is very extensive and winding. We certainly covered another 2 km according to Komoot.
A visit is worthwhile.

The weather was forecast to be a bit mixed. So ideal for a city and museum exploration. The way there through the vineyards above Brixen with the different cloud moods was very fitting. Since the rain took a break after the sightseeing, we went back to Vahrn via a different route.

Over meadows and forest paths, with magnificent views, we started towards the Val Gardena. The second part of the trail after the lunch break with delicious food and a brilliant view became a bit more difficult as it went over narrow forest paths with many roots and through a landslide slope.

We noticed that the last hike on this Keschtnweg was almost 12 years ago. High time to hike here again. To start with a bright blue sky. Clouds gathered around noon but it stayed dry. Perfect hiking weather.
