First, we comfortably took the gondola 🚡 up to Madrisa for the start of the tour. After the solar power plant construction site, the view opened up into the beautiful Schlappin valley. The panoramic view was magnificent.
In Schlappin, we took a break from walking downhill with a delicious lunch 😋.

Started in beautiful weather in Appenzell. Alphorn players greeted us and all other guests in the town center. We hiked to Gontenbad where we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the golf restaurant. With slightly more cloudy weather, we continued over the Barfussweg to Jakobsbad and over the Untere Lauftegg

Der Via Alpina entlang vom Urnerboden nach Braunwald. Der erste Teil gemütlich dem Fluss entlang bevor es dann ab dem Grenzstein (Uri/Glarus) etwas anspruchsvoller wurde bis zum Restaurant Nussbühl.

The weather was on our side. The three of us ambled from Urnerboden to the pass summit. After lunch, a final spurt to the Hotel Klausenpass where we could still enjoy a beer on the terrace before the thunderstorm broke loose.
