Very beautiful old half-timbered houses in small streets

      Knight * Rhine * Romance

In the heart of the romantic Rhine Valley, a small town invites you to visit. A town with a long history, medieval character, and idyllic flair. Surrounded by vines and roses, it is guarded by the imposing Marksburg Castle, which towers high above the winding streets of the old town. It is the only undestroyed hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine. Numerous remnants of the medieval town fortifications can still be found in Braubach, such as the historic St. Barbara Church from the 13th century, whose tower was a corner fortification of the city wall. Also worth seeing is the 11th-century St. Martin's Chapel. This is the final resting place of the famous chamber singer Heinrich Schlusnus (1888–1952), who was born in Braubach. In the old town lies Philippsburg Castle with its romantic courtyard and Renaissance garden. Here, the European Castle Institute houses one of the largest castle libraries in Europe. Braubach offers its guests peace and tranquility, as well as entertainment, culture, and a wide variety of excursion options.
