The Marksburg stands on a slate cone at a height of 160 meters and is the only medieval hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine that has never been destroyed.

The view of the Marksburg from the opposite bank of the Rhine is always breathtaking. The castle is visible from afar, if you are on the left bank bike path.
