The Church of the Good Shepherd is one of the few medieval evangelical churches in the Czech Republic. Today it belongs to the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren.

The church was built between 1470 and 1490 by the Cheb burgrave Heinz von Zedtwitz as a castle and burial chapel. In 1542 the church became evangelical. Under the influence of the Protestant Counts von Zedtwitz, the Ascher Ländchen formed a special feature in the otherwise predominantly Catholic Austria-Hungary and later Czechoslovakia. It survived the communist era largely unscathed, but is in need of renovation. In 1992, conservation measures were started, for which former German residents raised a large part of the funds. The interior of the church was extensively renovated after 1995.

The church is an early Baroque, rectangular hall church with a polygonal tower on the east side. For the wooden interior of the church, the master builders only used wooden nails made by hand.

The church contains a memorial to the victims of World War I, which was unveiled on July 29, 1928. Below the church stands another memorial dedicated to the victims of the wars of 1848, 1859 and 1866, inaugurated on June 11, 1893.
