The Flora Temple on the south side of Lake Louisa, created in 1909 with Flora, the goddess of spring and flowers, is today one of the most romantic places in Bad Elster.
The bronze statue, formerly created by the renowned sculptor Peter Pöppelmann, fell victim to World War II. In 1994 a new Flora statue was created based on a template by the sculptor Ernst Julius Hähnel from 1842. Elsteraner donors enabled their casting in a local art foundry. The unveiling ceremony took place on September 13, 1997.

Flora is not only a synonym for the plant world, but also stands for the goddess of flowers in Roman mythology. Today, a piece of our eventful past has been preserved with the Floratempel in Bad Elster. If you make a detour to the Paul-Schindel-Park around Lake Louisa, we highly recommend a stop at the tribute to the flower goddess, which is inspired by Roman architecture.Source and more info

The Flora Temple in Paul Schindelpark. At the gondola pond, there is also a small snack bar😋
