The Schwalbensteingrotte (also often called Schwalbengrotte) is one of the many fascinating karst formations in the Kaiserbachtal near Krögelstein. It is located on the wooded rocky slope of the Kaiserbachtal, not far from other well-known caves such as the Kühkirche and the Säukirche. It is a spacious half-cave or a deep rock overhang. It appears as a natural shelter that extends deep into the limestone rock. The name is presumably derived from the swallows that find ideal nesting places in the protected niches of the rock overhang.
