Location: Ville De Bruxelles - Stad Brussel, Brussels, Belgium
This is perhaps the best neighborhood for going out in Brussels. The halls were built in 1881 and served as a food market. To prevent infections such as cholera, city authorities have tried to regulate the sale of food and require it to take place in hygienic food halls. The magnificent brick building, with its awnings, performed this function brilliantly until 1977.When activities resumed in the 1980s and after a complete restoration, the halls became a neighborhood meeting center hosting exhibitions. Locals come here to play chess or just to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon in the sofas and lounge chairs.
