Since I am a big fan of circular tours, we have divided the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path into several stages, each of which is a circular route. Due to a lot of industry, this section of the cycle path only really goes along the Ruhr in parts and often along roads. But the way to the mouth of the Ruhr is very nice.
