Since the building also housed the police station, the police station's sentry boxes can still be seen on older postcards.After the current secondary school on Schulstrasse was ceremoniously inaugurated on October 14, 1938 in the presence of numerous dignitaries with a large roll call in front of the school, the White School was converted into the town hall. Single-storey ancillary buildings were built to the east and west, with the eastern part built in half-timbered construction and used as housing for a long time.
The ancillary buildings were not continuously connected to the main building, but were separated from the main building by a courtyard surrounded by a wall and large gates. The connection to the main building came later. The town hall received its current shape and appearance through the renovation of the building and the reconstruction of the market square, which was completed in December 1998.
