The Walloon Fens is part of the High Fens, a raised moor and fen area located in the Belgian Ardennes. It is the largest raised moor in Europe west of the Russian plateaus and is one of the most untouched landscapes in the Eifel and the Ardennes. The two most famous Venn streams, Hill and Rur, have their headwaters in the natural paradise of the Walloon Fens. Large hiking park car parks are located at Signal de Botrange and Baraque Michel.

The Walloon Fens are one of Belgium's most unique natural areas. The area consists of vast raised bogs, marshes, and peaty heathlands, which formed after the last ice age. Thanks to its wet, cool climate and rare soil conditions, it is home to unique flora and fauna, such as peat plants, rare mosses, and birds of wet heathlands. Protected as the Parc naturel des Hautes-Fagnes, the Walloon Fens offer nature lovers and hikers alike a serene and almost timeless experience in a rugged, unspoiled landscape.
