The chapel was founded in 1936 by a number of residents of Over de Beek. A dedication is painted on the cornice: O L V of Lourdes pray for us. This devotion was already flourishing at that time, but before the Second World War few people could go on a pilgrimage to Lourdes. In this chapel, Our Lady stands on the altar, flanked by a statuette of Bernadette.
