As the information board (see photos) indicates, the tunnel, including both entrance buildings and the entire original technical equipment, has been protected as a monument since 1997.

These boats later reappeared on the scene after the Germans exploded the entrance building on the Left Bank in 1944 and the tunnel became unusable for several years.
