The town hall is on the list of the UNESCO world cultural heritage. The town hall is a Renaissance building, designed by the architect Cornelis Floris De Vriendt. It was built between 1561 and 1564. The town hall is mainly built in the Renaissance style, but the middle section is already reminiscent of the Baroque. After the thorough restoration in 2018-2022, the town hall is a contemporary, sustainable and open house of government. After the restoration, the town hall is an open house, an icon of valuable immovable heritage on the Grote Markt.

It is supercool to ride arount the Grote Markt, not only for the square but you can see the tip of the Cathedral of Our lady of Antwerp. Plus there are a lot of bars and restaurants to eat some waffle or drink some coffee.
