Hiking

The Groenplaats with the statue of Rubens was the central cemetery of Antwerp until the 18th century. During the Austrian occupation it was transformed into a square and since then it has been a meeting place for Antwerp residents. The Groenplaats is very popular with day tourists. There is a regular flower market here. At the first rays of the sun, all terraces are always full. From the square you have a beautiful view of the Cathedral of Our Lady.
