The Kirchenpauerkai in the Baakenhafen district is the largest and also the greenest promenade in HafenCity.
The first section with a length of around 560 meters has now been completed.
For the first time, the district is moving directly to the Elbe on a broad front - and also represents an important link between the urban areas south and east of the Elbe bridges, the western areas of HafenCity and the city center.
With a direct view of the Elbe and the opposite Grasbrook, the Kirchenpauerkai forms the southern end of the quarter and the district.
To the west, the promenade borders Baakenhöft and will in future extend along the banks of the Elbe for a total length of around one kilometer to the east as far as the Elbbrücken underground station.
To the north are the new residential and business districts along Baakenallee.

The cranes can be seen as a nice memory, in the sense of “building was nicer back then”. Or as a reminder: "If the manufacturer had used new technology and developed further, then it would still exist."
        What are we thinking today?
