Hiking

Many zinc (calamine)-loving flowers and plants grow in the Plombieres mining area. Including the beautiful Galmeiveilchen (Zinkviooltje). In this place they bloom from April to the end of September (sometimes even longer). The geul was diverted here. These beautiful flowers grow sheltered on the flat quarry floor next to the bridge. Here you will also find a number of information boards (DE, NL, FR) with lots of information about the various zinc-loving plants. Note: The jellyfish are abundant here, but it's easy to miss them. They are just very small.
