The meadow and pasture area of the Won, which lies between 770 and 820 meters above sea level, was created by centuries of grazing. This is also shown by the numerous solitaire trees, which are picturesquely scattered throughout the area. Even today, in the warmer seasons, there is always a herd of sheep that is supposed to keep the area open in the service of nature conservation.

Wonderful plateau on the Alb 👍which has its own charm in every season even in fog 🙂 Perfect for taking a break, relaxing and enjoying.

The Won plateau has been designated as a nature reserve under the name "Wonhalde-Spielberg" since the 1990s. In contrast to the Won, the Wonhalde and the Spielberg are on the more than 40 percent steep slope of the Albtrauf.
