    The I. Hammer is a district of Mägdesprung, which in turn belongs as a district to the city Harzgerode in Saxony-Anhalt district of Harz. In addition, it is registered as a hammer mill in the local monument list.
    The first hammer is located in Selketal in the Harz on the county road from Mägdesprung to Selkemühle. South of the village along the road flows the Selke.

It was planned as an extension of the Mägdesprung smelter for fresh hearth and stave iron production and served as the location of a hammer mill. The name Friedrichshammer refers to the founder of the works, Prince Friedrich Albrecht of Anhalt-Bernburg. Preserved in the village is the house of the hammer master, a farm building and workers' houses from the 19th century. The Hammermeister's house was later used as a school. The original hammer building no longer exists and was replaced by a brick house built turbine house.
