At the beginning of February 2017, Natuurpunt and the province of Limburg started restoring several streams and old ponds in the Munsterbos nature reserve. These streams flow together into the Munsterbeek, which in turn flows to the Demer. The restoration of the natural stream structure and the construction of fish ladders offers the species in the area opportunities to develop again into resilient populations.
