In the Middle Ages, women farmers made hand cheese in every farm. For the 950th anniversary celebrations in 1985, a memorial was set up for the cheesemakers. The basket has two handles because the women also carried it on their heads. In 1985 the monument to the Käsfraa (cheese woman), created by the local artist Hannelore Tegeder, was erected.
