About Adelheid vdL

It is approx. 1 km from the train station through the commercial area. And then it gets really nice. Views, a great ravine, Roman educational trail, picnic areas. The most beautiful at the Limesturm, from there a great view. Then comes a desolate section = forest road. Only shortly before the Malberghaus do you turn onto a forest path. At the Malberghaus not only refreshments are possible, but foresight again. Then it goes on a nice way to Waldbreitbach

3 weeks before our hut hike I had invited everyone to a training hike to the Ahr. After the last hot days we were very lucky with the temperatures today.
And I was lucky with the selection of the hiking route: very varied, challenging, with beautiful views. The route to the Zwergen-Engelsjoch is easy. But then everyone should consider whether they really are tackling the trail to Are Castle. Is only for the experienced and sure-footed. Loose ground and steep.
Hiking sticks are also very helpful in many places.
I would repeat this tour at any time 👍

I have often walked in this part of the city forest. Today friend Christine showed me new, narrow ways 😀👌

Once a year the immigrants go on a hike to share the working week. The journey can sometimes be a little longer. So today in the Vulkaneifel to "Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2019".
The start of the hike was promising: Eifelmaar and Ulmen Castle. That was it for the next 10 km. A forest path next to an almost dry stream bed. It got better from the "waterfall" and the pilgrimage church, from the Napoleonsbrücke (no information board! 😏) it got really nice. Narrow path next to the stream with significantly more water. Nice old mills. The last 3 km were the absolute low point: the official hiking trail is closed for approx. 3 years (information from a resident) due to construction work. Detour dubious, therefore along the street 😡.
We 12 hikers are disappointed and ask ourselves: Who voted here?
Conclusion: The route is definitely not worth the long journey of 3 hours (🚗 and 🚌).

Khaanara has created a great route directly from home. The weather was fine, from the cattle pasture it was a little too warm due to the 🌞 in the open area. All 3 🚶‍♂️ aged 52, 79 + 83 and the 6 🚶‍♀️ (50-63) held out. The 3 🐕 as well. We are proud of ourselves 😀

It is a very nice, easy tour through a lot of forest and meadows and distant views.

On May 15, 2020, a good 2 months ago, I and a hiking friend ran this route in stripped-down form once. And was completely thrilled because there is so much to see. Now I wanted to see Bismarckstrasse. The detour was not worth it. The tower is not accessible, just like the Ludwigsturm.😏 For this I missed the junction to Marienhöhe 🤨. You should definitely go there.

Finally I have organized a dog walk again. 15 🐕 and 17 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ were there. Everything relaxed and peaceful. And this time we did it, everyone! 🐕 to get a photo.
