The Old Kurpark is located in the city center, directly on Königsteiner Straße. It was laid out in the style of an English landscape park from 1823 onwards. Here you can discover numerous exotic trees as well as several fountains, such as the sulfur fountain or the "Neue Sprudel". The spa house, which was demolished in 1971 and is now replaced by the "Ramada Hotel", was also located here. The bathhouse, which was built during spa times, is also located in the Old Kurpark. Today you can find the city archives, the city library and the city museum here. The spa park also contains the Paulinenschlösschen and the concert shell, where concerts and events (such as public viewing or church services) are regularly held. The Wilhelmsbrunnen (out of service since 2001) is also in the park.
