The Alte Kurpark is located in the city center, directly on Königsteiner Strasse. It was laid out from 1823 in the style of an English landscape park. Here you can discover numerous exotic trees as well as several fountains, such as the sulfur fountain or the "Neue Sprudel". The Kurhaus, which was demolished in 1971, was also located here and is now being replaced by the “Ramada Hotel”.
There is also the bathhouse in the old spa park, which was built during spa times. Today you will find the city archive, the city library and the city museum here. In addition, there is the Paulinenschlösschen and the concert shell in the Kurpark, where concerts and events (such as public viewing or church services) are regularly offered.
There are also the sulfur fountain, the Wilhelmsbrunnen (out of operation since 2001) and the “Neue Sprudel” in the park.
