The Steinwald Nature Park is small, but nevertheless wild - lynx, eagle owl, tawny owl and lots of red deer live in the dense forests. Of course, you will not get to see the shy forest population, but in the deer park at the Waldhaus, the proud stag Xaver usually willingly shows his visitors.

You can always see red deer. Nevertheless, the enclosure is big enough that one does not feel that the animals have too little space. There are also fewer people watching here than e.g. at the zoo.
