The Magdeburg harbor, which in its north-south orientation connects the HafenCity with the Speicherstadt, the Domplatz and the Jungfernstieg, is to be developed into a metropolitan waterfront, like the people of Hamburg know from the Binnenalster.
The master plan identifies special locations on the tips of the quay tongues and at the mouths of the Magdeburg harbor and the Baakenhafen, where the so-called maritime triangle is created.
To the west of Magdeburg Harbor, HafenCity will be mostly completed in the next 2 - 3 years.
