Legendary fellwalker Alfred Wainwright was so enamoured with Halls Fells Ridge that he said it was 'positively the finest way to any mountain-top' in the Lake District. Arcing upwards directly to the summit, it's a glorious way to ascend Blencathra and just nudges into easy scrambling territory. An ideal first foray onto such terrain as there's always the bypass path if things get a little too much.

Stick to the ridge proper and avoid the path which switches sides .... great direct scramble

Best way up Blencathra. Airey ridge that tops out at the summit. Can be slippy esp in descent.
