Hartington to Wolfscote Dale Circular
A definite touch of Autumn in the air for this one!
The walk starts from the pretty village of Hartington where there is parking at Parsons Field car park (£2.20 all day as of August 2026) and visits some of the pretty Derbyshire Dales.

Wainwrights | High Tove and Armboth Fell
A short trip up to visit the summits of High Tove and Armboth Fell.
It’s a very boggy place so one best saved for a dry summer unless you don’t mind wet feet.
The car park at Armboth wasn’t accepting card payment but the one down the road at Dobgill…

Short Walk to the Bowder Stone
The forecast was for rain so we picked a few short walks we could do in between the showers. This was a quick out and back to the Bowder Stone.
The weather also was way better than the forecast, annoyingly!

Wainwrights | Castle Crag
A short circular walk to Castle Crag.
We parked in the Borrowdale Institute car park (£6 all day as of August 2026) next to the National Trust car park which was more expensive as we’re not NT members. There was also parking in a farmers field for £5 all day.…

Kinder Scout Plane Wrecks - Wellington at Upper Tor and Avro Anson on Edale Moor
A challenging route with off path sections, heading off onto the bleak Kinder Scout plateau. Expect wet feet, hard to navigate sections of peat groughs and extremely changeable weather.

Crowden Clough Scramble onto Kinder + Anson and Harvard Plane Crash Sites
There was a lot of off path hiking on this walk, with steep uneven ground. You’ll need to be confident navigating and wear appropriate footwear.

Great route yes its very tough too! I plotted a route from Grindsbrook clough up through the valley to the top of kinder come back on yourself down the penne way to Jacobs ladder and back to the teain stayion nice cafe syop it walks just under 10miles beautiful it is! Stunning photos
