The viewing hill Monte Cenis at around 77m - on the former colliery site Mont Cenis..."The Mont-Cenis colliery in today's Herner district and the then independent municipality of Sodingen was one of the smaller coal mining sites in the Ruhr area, but you can now find it mentioned or illustrated in many travel guides for the region. However, you will hardly find a colliery here anymore Some sculptures or carts, as shown on the right, are scattered across the district.Slightly hidden in the second row, however, is an extraordinary, huge glass palace, which looks like a UFO between the houses in the village and does not fit in with the townscape at all. ..."
