The castle tower and connecting building were built in 1868 in the neo-Gothic style. Since 1938, the castle and the adjacent park have been owned by the city, which has housed its administration in the castle buildings. There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the southern part of the castle.

Hiking

The neo-Gothic components built in 1868 under Baron Christian Friedrich Gustav von Berckheim are particularly striking at the current seat of the Weinheim city administration. But the building has a history that goes back much further into the 15th century, namely a palace of the Palatinate electors, and for a short time their residence and seat of the government of the electorate.
