The station area was renovated in 2008. The old shape signals were replaced by light signals and the thresholds of track 2 and the railroad crossing were completely renewed. The station has two tracks, in passenger traffic since December 2008, only the track 1 is used, since the crossing option was reactivated in Ratzeburg and the trains since then intersect there. Freight traffic takes place only occasionally.
