Carmen Langmaack, who passed away in 2015 at an advanced age, left a remarkable legacy to the town of Mölln. A foundation was established to promote nature conservation, animal welfare, and environmental education – entirely in her spirit. Although she no longer lived in Mölln for many years, she maintained a close connection to her homeland and the surrounding nature. Today, a beautiful footpath with a wooden bridge between the lakes at Schmalsee commemorates her: the Carmen Langmaack Trail.

Everyone would like to have such a hereditary aunt. She bequeathed a few million to the city of Mölln, where she lived as a child. The foundation also enables bridges and hiking trails to be built.

Carmen Langmaack, who passed away on March 23, 2015 at the age of 93, made it possible to establish a foundation named after her in the town of Mölln through a generous bequest. The Carmen Langmaack Foundation – Mölln Nature Center will, in accordance with the testator's wishes, strive to support projects that serve environmental and nature conservation, animal welfare, and environmental education.Ms. Langmaack spent a large part of her childhood and youth in Mölln.Even though she hasn't lived in Mölln for many years, she has always remained deeply connected to her hometown and its beautiful natural surroundings, and has generously promoted and financially supported nature and environmental protection in the town. For several years now, you have been able to walk along the Carmen Langmaack Trail along the shores of Lake Schmalsee. A very beautiful path that leads over a wooden bridge between Lake Schmalsee and Lake Lütauer See.carmen-langmaack-stiftung.de
