On the south side of Cologne Cathedral, towards Roncalli Square (which, incidentally, was named after Pope John XXIII - whose real name is Roncalli), is the so-called "Petrusbrunnen". The “High Cathedral Church of Cologne” has the patronage of Saint Peter (Peter). Since the well no longer had any water for a very long time, it is popularly called "Drüjje Pitter" (Cologne/Rhine dialect for "Dry Peter").
