The Catholic Church of St. Apostles is framed by the surrounding houses. The church looks back on almost 1,000 years of history, during which it was repeatedly expanded and rebuilt. The most significant expansion, which is still prevalent today, took place around the year 1200. At that time, construction began on the Romanesque three-conche choir. The church and its interior can be visited daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to the cathedral, the St. Apostles Church is the second stop in downtown Cologne on the Rhenish Way of St. James.

Although the episcopal city of Cologne is best known throughout the world for its Gothic-style cathedral from the 13th century - not only a place of worship, but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site - the older 12 large - and even other smaller - Romanesque churches deserve credit also attracts attention, as does the church "Saint Apostles" in downtown Cologne, at the head of the Neumarkt.
The “Förderverein Romanische Kirchen Köln e.V.” takes care of researching their history and corresponding publications (here in particular the “Yearbook”), as well as funding for preservation. very committed.
