The Roman Gate Triumphal Arch in Córdoba, also known as Arco del Triunfo or Puerta del Puente, is an impressive monument in the historic center of Córdoba. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Mezquita-Catedral and forms a central part of the architectural ensemble that marks the transition between the old town and the Puente Romano bridge.

The triumphal arch has its origins in Roman times, when the area was an important access point to the city. The current building dates from the 16th century and was renovated under the direction of Hernán Ruiz III. The arch was intended to serve as a representative entrance to the city, but was never fully completed. Its neoclassical style was inspired by Roman models and honors the ancient history of Córdoba.

Today, this bridge gate is no longer in use and looks more like a triumphal arch. The 16th century gate is built to a classical design with Doric columns, entablature and frieze, and a curved pediment with a coat of arms carried by two warriors.

The Puerta del Puente is one of the three entrances to the ancient Roman city that remain standing in Córdoba. It is a monument steeped in history that has an excellent viewpoint.
