The Monumento a los Enamorados (Monument to the Lovers) is a tribute to the love story between the poet Ibn Zaydun and the poetess and princess Wallada. It was inaugurated in 1971 and is located in the Campo Santo de los Mártires. The monument consists of a small temple-shaped structure with four columns, a small roof and a pedestal with two hands. It commemorates the passionate and tragic love between Ibn Zaydun and Wallada, whose poetry has left a lasting legacy. The inscriptions on the monument contain poems by both poets, written in Spanish and Arabic.
