The Triumphal Column of San Rafael is one of the most famous monuments in Córdoba. It was built in honor of the Archangel Rafael, the patron saint of the city. This impressive baroque sculpture is located near the Roman Bridge and the Mezquita-Catedral, making it a central part of the historic old town. The column is a baroque masterpiece that combines various elements. The column rises on a base, crowned by a statue of the Archangel Rafael.

The veneration of San Rafael in Córdoba began in the 17th century after the archangel is said to have saved the city from a plague epidemic. The column was designed in the 18th century by various artists, including Miguel de Verdiguier.
