Villa Bittner (also: Villa Degischer) is a listed summer residence in the Heimatstil style in Kohlern, a district of Bolzano. It was built in 1896 by the city architect Johann Bittner as a private vacation home for himself and his family. The building, consisting of a brick ground floor and three wooden floors above, impresses with its typical Heimatstil features: turrets, bay windows, a sloping roof, and rich wood ornamentation. The interior is also lavishly decorated, with carvings, wall inscriptions, and decorative paintings. The original room layout has been preserved to this day.Bittner used the house as a personal retreat away from urban life. The villa is one of the earliest surviving examples of the Heimatstil style in the Bolzano area and an important example of Alpine architectural culture around 1900.(Wikipedia)
