On the way from Museumstrasse and over the Talfer Bridge, the Victory Monument (1926 - 1928), a huge building made of Zandobbio marble (Bergamo), comes into focus.

It was built at the request of the fascist government in Rome according to a plan by the architect Marcello Piacentini. Even today it still has clear fascist symbols. The triumphal arch with the Latin inscription "Hic patriae fines siste signa. Hinc ceteros excoluimus lingua legibus artibus" was built on July 12, 1928 by King Vittorio Emanuele III. inaugurated. In 2005 the municipality of Bolzano had plaques put up commemorating the crimes of that time.

Behind the monument there is a park and the Victory Square is surrounded by large, rationalist-style buildings. The popular weekly Saturday market is held here.

A remarkable plaque commemorating the separation of South Tyrol from Austria and a clear statement for Europe.
