Today's Way of the Cross with 14 stations is mainly due to the initiative of Baptista Krebs, a priest of the third order of the Franciscans, who lived on the Kreuzberg from 1729 as the first independent benefactor and hermit. With the support of various community foundations, Krebs collected the necessary funds for the Way of the Cross, which was finally built in 1739.
