This tower is built of quarry stones, but not really historical.
Around 1903 work began on the connection of the Hunsrückbahn to the Boppard station. However, the Säuerlingsturm, which was part of the medieval city fortifications, stood in the way. Therefore, the tower was demolished in 1906-1908 and rebuilt with a thinner wall north of its old position. In the course of the relocation of the Säuerlingsturm, it was expanded into a water tower.
