"It's easy to miss the small stone figure that's squatting on the embankment on the right after about 50 meters. It's the "glassblower" by the Rheinbach architect Hermann-Josef Thelen. He's been there for about ten years and has long since turned moss-green. His eyes shine mysteriously white. Thelen suspects that maybe someone is helping with color. The fact that the glass blower has secret admirers is proven at least by the Christmas tree balls with which a small spruce tree opposite is often decorated in winter. The stone gnome is a preliminary design for a sculpture that was to be glass museum stands."
