Prisoners arriving in Buchenwald were chased at a run, with “Caracho,” to the camp gate by shouting and beating SS men and their dogs. There used to be an elaborately crafted wooden signpost here with the inscription "Caracho Way", which can be viewed in the permanent exhibition in the camp.
