In the film DIE ANDERE HEIMAT by Edgar Reitz there is a church in “Schabbach”, i.e. in the location Gehlweiler. In the film, however, it was not a real church, but a film church.
It was made out of styrofoam. And since the church can only be seen in the background of the village, a complete construction was not necessary. Wooden pillars stood on the roof of a garage so that the tower of the first church had the correct "film height".
