The 8th light hole was only planned as construction progressed on the Rothschönberger Stolln and adapted to the special features of the Halsbrücke mining industry. It is 139 m deep and the associated tunnel is 227 m long. It is part of the fiscal part of the Rothschönberger Stolln. The cowhouse opposite the shaft also served as a hat house.
