The Veehof is part of the former Benedictine abbey of Kortenberg and refers to the important livestock, horses, cattle, pigs and sheep that the abbey owned.
The original (right) part dates from 1650.

The Veehof formed the elongated west wing of the farmyard that was destroyed by fire in 1624 and rebuilt around 1650. It refers to the important livestock of horses, cattle, pigs and sheep that the abbey kept.

After the French Revolution it came into the possession of the owners of the 'abbey castle' and was partly demolished around 1813, while the northern part was preserved. After 1830 it was used as a gardener's house and at the beginning of the last century the cows of the 'Laiterie de Cortenberg' were stabled there. After the construction of the new dairy in 1914 it became a gardener's house again and in 1925-1930 it housed the pig farm of Jacques Salkin.

After the purchase by Canon Misonne, the Veehof was restored and converted into his private residence (1933-1968). From 1969 to 1976 it was inhabited by the Schaarbeek glass artist Julien Van Averbeke (1904-1977) who supplied the stained glass windows for the choir of the church of Kortenberg in 1951.

Of the brewery where, according to Wauters (1855), the States of Brabant met and which formed the south wing of the farmyard, only two natural stone wall fragments with a bevelled plinth remain, which formed the south-western corner of the wing.
